June 12, 2014 Year 2 students from the BA (Hons) in Early Years Education programme at SEGi College Subang Jaya arranged for a medical specialist to deliver a talk at the college. Dr Gowri from Klang General Hospital shared on the topic ‘Children’s Health and Well-being’ as part of the students’ need to work with multi-agencies such as healthcare providers and social workers to promote the well-being of children and their families. SEGi University’s Exhilarating Eco-Expedition to Sungai Chilling
June 1, 2014 The Student Affairs Division and SEGi Nature Society spent a night at Sungai Chilling, located at the small town of Kuala Kubu Bharu in Selangor from 31st May to 1st June. A total of 46 eager campers, consisting of 42 students and 4 Student Affairs officers set up their tents, some of them for the first time. After lunch, there was a ice breaking session and followed by other fun activities such as talks on nature and pollution and other games. The day rounded up with a memorable BBQ dinner. The next day, there campers played Tug of War and then embarked on jungl... more »

Getting in Contact with Contact Lenses
May 27, 2014 Students from the Optometry and Vision Science Faculty were treated to a talk by contact lenses manufacturer, Alcon, on silicone hydrogel lenses. Contact lenses users are now moving towards silicone hydrogel lenses because it promotes an increase of oxygen, which makes wearing them more comfortable and healthy, when compared to conventional hydrogel lenses. The speaker was Professor Pauline Cho, Professor from the School of Optometry at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Thank you for coming, Alcon!

April 22, 2014 In conjunction with Earth Day, Rotaractors of SEGi College Kuala Lumpur successfully raised awareness on the importance of going green and saving the Earth. They encouraged fellow students to wear green colored t-shirts to represent nature. There were also fun games that had an environment angle that had people having a whale of a time while learning how to care for Mother Nature. Besides enabling students to have photos taken at the Polaroid Photo Booth, students also encouraged to recycle paper, aluminum and plastic at recycling bins located at the campus. ... more »

April 12, 2014 SEGi University repeated history at MAPCU Sports Carnival on 12th April 2014 when its Rugby team was crowned Champions at the MAPCU Rugby Tournament 2014 for second time. The tournament was held at the University of Nottingham Malaysian Campus in Semenyih, Selangor. The team has improved by leaps and bounds, thus enabling them to be the defending champion. The team hopes to emulate their success again in 2015. Congratulations to the rugby players! They really exemplify the spirit of “The Best in You, Made Possible”.

The Importance of Being Earnest Loh
March 25, 2014 Students pursuing the Public Relations and English programme at SEGi University put up an animated play based on The Importance of Being Earnest, written by popular playwright Oscar Wilde. The brilliant students added a Malaysian twist to the play, which tickled everyone’s fancy and made the play so much more relatable. Great job, all!

March 26, 2014 The SEGi Pharmacy Student Association, in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceutical Sdn Bhd, invited a special guest speaker Dr Madelene Ong to speak on Hepatitis A and B at SEGi University. To a packed auditorium of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Nursing students, Dr Madelene shared her expertise in the liver disease. Dr Madelene holds a PhD in Nutrition Health Science and a Graduate Degree in Nursing from Victoria University, Australia.

SCKL Spends Quality Time with Agathians Shelter Kids
April 11, 2014 The SEGi Placement Club (SPC) at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur, led by its advisor Mrs. M.Thelagarani a/p M. Murugesu, visited the children’s welfare home Agathians Shelter in Petaling Jaya. 16 members of SPC spent a quality morning with the children by playing various games, having an art session and bonding over lunch. The visit gave the SPC members a different perspective of life, and also enabled them to sharpen their interactive skills with children.

April 2, 2014 While most of his peers would be working hard on their assignment papers which would determine their final degree classification, Rajeeshwaran Moorthy or Raj, is one step ahead. At the moment, he is in his final semester of his Finance and Management degree through the American Degree Program at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur. He became part of the Student Leadership Symposium in 2013. Since then, he was lured into the electrifying world of academic symposiums, summits and conferences.
