SEGi History
For 35 years, SEGi Education Group (SEGi) has equipped graduates from diverse backgrounds with exceptional foundations for career achievement and personal success.
It first opened its doors asSystematicCollegein 1977 in the heart ofKuala Lumpur’s commercial district, offering professional qualifications. Since then, the Group has experienced significant growth by adapting and catering to an increasing demand for higher academic and professional qualifications inMalaysia.
Today, the Group is one of the largest private higher education providers inMalaysiaand serves more than 27,000 students through its six major campuses located in Kota Damansara,Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya, Seri Kembangan,Penangand Kuching. Internationally Recognised Programmes
SEGi provides industry driven programmes from foundation and diploma level to bachelor and master degrees in health science, allied health science, business & accountancy, engineering, built environment, information technology, creative arts & design, hospitality, tourism, education, social sciences and mass communication, as well as the popular American Degree Program and Doctor of Business Administration programme.
Students are exposed to a variety of learning methods including lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations as well as practical experience in laboratories and on the job. SEGi also draws a large number of top-notch academics and captains of industries into its community, who serve as academic advisors, lecturers, examiners and moderators.
Through these efforts, thousands of Malaysian youths and international students who have undergone studies or training at SEGi, have gone on to write their own success stories.

SEGi has built strong global connections with first-class universities worldwide as well as corporate links with many large companies, offering graduates a variety of internationally recognized qualifications and proven links with industry.
SEGi’s consortium of global partners consists of top-notch universities such as Teesside University, The University of Sheffield, University of Abertay Dundee, University of Greenwich, University of Sunderland, University of London and York St John University from the UK; Upper Iowa University from the US; and University of Southern Queensland from Australia.

Global Perspective
SEGi actively recruits international students from over 40 countries worldwide, with the majority of those students coming from China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Africa, Indiaand Iran. The current international student population in SEGi accounts for more than 14% of the total student population.
SEGi is committed not only to providing quality education solutions to the local community but to engaging international markets, helping to create a cosmopolitan campus environment and giving all students a global background and perspective.

Student Services Centre
The Student Service Centre (SSC) operates as a one-stop-centre to provide students with support and guidance throughout their studies. At SEGi, we have a well-established network of support staff and a range of services in place to advise and assist students with any problems they may experience relating to their studies, health issues, career and personal issues. The four areas that are handled by the SSC include:
  1. Student Residence – to provide students with a home away from home that is clean, secure and comfortable.
  2. International Office – to assist international students with immigration matters pertaining to their studies and to assist international students in adapting to the local culture and environment.
  3. Student Activities – to create a climate in which students have a well-rounded education experience through clubs, societies and workshops, sports, student events/activities, recreational and outdoor activities.
  4. Student Care Unit – to provide advise and assistance to students in areas such as personal and career counselling, university and job placements and student needs.

Accommodation
Aside from offering internationally recognised qualifications, SEGi boasts strategically located campuses which offer students various options for affordable accommodation as well as all required amenities, making it an attractive choice for higher education amongst international students.
Accommodation includes on-campus and off-campus options ranging from traditional self-contained college residence to modern shared apartments. All accommodation is reasonably priced and conveniently located close to the campus. Our Student Service Centre (SSC) is here to assist you every step of the way offering friendly advice and information to help you find the right place to live.

Co-curricular Activities
Speakers from various industries are constantly invited to speak to students about their career prospects. In addition to this, talks on personal grooming which include skincare, dressing and interview skills, are also organised to prepare students for future interviews with prospective employers. Activities such as SEGi Idol, SEGi Fear Factor, Charity Carnival, International Cultural Day, Ultimate Prom Night andSEGi Street5ive are held to make campus life more exciting.
SEGi students are encouraged to have a well-rounded education experience to help them further develop their interpersonal and communication skills while learning about other cultures. Through clubs and societies such as the Photography Club, Youth Ablaze, De Linggua, students are able to participate in extra-curricular activities such as camping, mountain climbing, futsal and bowling. Students are also encouraged to participate in community services and activities.

Orientation
Orientation, at the start of the academic year, is extremely important as it is the first exciting step into life at SEGi. The orientation programme offers students the opportunity to become acquainted with SEGi, its staff, fellow students, courses, facilities and environment. It is also a time for students to make new friends, learn their way around campus and get to know the social and sporting clubs and societies that may interest them.
